Italian Calf Leather Greyhound Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

A classic leather greyhound collar, made by hand from luxuriously soft Italian leather and available in a huge range of contemporary leather shades.

Go for traditional black or brown, or something more vibrant like jaffa orange or lime green. Just pick your favourite colour and your new leather greyhound collar will be hand-made to order in our Northumberland workshop.

Rest assured that even the brightest colours stay put on the collar. The leather is of such high quality that it won’t stain your dog’s neck, no matter how much it rains. If your dog likes getting muddy, just wipe the collar with a soft cloth and it will come up like new.

This collar is comfortable as well as stylish. It’s fully lined with the same butter-soft calf leather, with smooth rounded edges to prevent rubbing or irritation. A sturdy leather inner core ensures durability.

The leather greyhound collar has been designed in a fishtail shape to protect and support the slender neck of your sighthound. It measures 2”, tapering to a 1” buckle, strap and D-ring.

How about a new leather dog lead?

Your new lead will match the collar, made from the same soft Italian leather so it will feel comfy for you as you’re out with your dog. There's a handy D-ring in the handle so you can clip it round your shoulder or waist while your sighthound is off lead.

Petiquette handmade leather leads are approximately 1 metre long and are available in a range of widths.

Leads are approx 1 metre long. Crystal leads will have the same colour crystals at the base of the lead

Ordered two fishtail collars in Italian Calf Leather for my two black greyhounds. One in Dusty Pink and the other in Ruby Red, coloured so that I know which collar
belong to which grey. They look fabulous, the collars are well made, fit perfectly and I am delighted to have discovered Petiquette Collars, worth every penny.

Beautifully made collar. I coulding

Beautifully made collar. I coulding resit choosing ruby as the colour for my deer-hound cross Ruby. It looks good against dark-grey coat and she is comfortable in the soft leather (she has been used to a slip lead). I am very happy with it and with the help I had chosing the right size. Packaging and delivery good too. So two happy bunnies. Oh, Oh, 'bunnies' maybe not a good word to use alongside lurcher!
