This rolled leather dog collar is perfect for carrying an ID tag when your pooch is at home. It’s lightweight, comfortable and luxuriously soft.

The collar is made from the finest Italian leather, hand rolled to make sure it feels velvety smooth against your dog’s neck. It's so comfortable that your dog won’t even notice it’s wearing a house collar, but it’s also strong enough to securely hold its ID.

We’ll make the collar in any colour you fancy. Just take a look at our huge range of leather colours and pick your favourite.

This version comes without a clasp. It's wide enough to slip easily over your dog’s neck. See our guide (below) to make sure you get the right size. If you’d prefer a collar with a clasp, try our Italian leather ID tag dog collar.

Please note – This is a house collar, so it’s not suitable for use with a lead. It's designed to hold an ID tag at home, just in case your dog gets out and becomes lost.

How to measure your dog's neck for a leather dog collar

Every leather dog collar that we make is tailor made to fit your dog’s neck like a glove, with enough room to tighten or loosen to allow for differences due to grooming.  No more annoying flaps of leather that look unsightly and more often than not get chewed on.

It really couldn't be easier to measure your dog’s neck for a handmade leather dog collar from Petiquette Collars.  All you will need is a soft tape measure or a piece of string, a pen and paper, and perhaps most importantly, your dog.

The MOST important thing to take into account when measuring though is DO NOT MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR.  This will lead to an incorrect sized collar.

Petiquette Collars generally cover a 2" - 3" neck size range.  So for example, a 10" - 12" collar.  The first hole would be 10" from the buckle, and the last hole would be 12" from the buckle.  Please see the image below for a visual representation.

We are always happy to help when it comes to choosing the size for your dog collar to ensure the perfect fit for your canine friend.  If you are in any doubt, please contact us.

Measuring your dog for a classic collar

Step 1

Have your dog stand comfortably, hopefully they won’t wriggle too much, but if they do, then bribery with some tasty treats can help.  Wrap the tape measure or piece of string around the middle of your dog’s neck so that it is touching the fur but is not tight around the neck.

Step 2

Make a note of this reading and then take a look at the sizes we offer for each of our bespoke collars.

We would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole would be as close to the neck measurement as possible.

For example

If your dog has a neck size of roughly 13.5”, then you should choose a 13” - 15” collar size.  This will give enough room to tighten it should they lose a little weight, and it gives enough room to slacken it if needed.

Measuring a sighthound for a collar

Step 1

If you have a sighthound such as an Italian Greyhound, Whippet, lurcher or Greyhound for example, rather than measuring around the middle of the neck, wrap the tape measure so that it is fairly snug, just behind the ears and under the chin at the top of the neck.

Step 2

As with our classic collars would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole is as close to the neck measurement as possible.

If you are measuring for a house collar, we would advise that you measure further down the neck, so that the collar will hang fairly loosely.

Measuring your dog for a martingale collar

We offer two types of martingale/half check collars.  Slip-on collars, which slide over the head (so need to be large enough to go over the head), and buckle style collars.  The sizing is ever so slightly different for each, so please ensure you check our sizing guide below to ensure the perfect fit.

How to measure your dog for a slip-on martingale or half check collar

  • Wrap a soft tape measure around the widest part of your dog's head so that it's fairly snug (often around the ears) and take that measurement.
  • Take a fairly snug measurement around the middle of their neck too.
  • If the head is larger than the middle of the neck, use the head measurement to determine the size needed.
  • If the neck is larger than the head, then use the neck measurement to determine the size needed.
  • Once you've got the size you need, add 1" to the measurement for smaller dogs (up to roughly 14" neck size) or add 2" for larger dogs.
  • Enter this final size as the collar size needed from the drop down menu.

How to measure your dog for a buckle style martingale or half check collar

  • Wrap a soft tape measure around the middle of the neck where the collar will sit so that it's fairly snug (often around the ears) and take that measurement.
  • Add 1" to the measurement for smaller dogs (up to roughly 14" neck size) or add 2" for larger dogs.
  • Enter this final size as the collar size needed from the drop down menu.

Slip on rolled leather collar, mushroom.

Looking for a quality house collar for our Whippet that would not mark or rub her fine coat on her neck. This seems to have done the trick, looks smart and good quality. Colour is a good match for her coat and size means its unobtrusive. Would not let her go without her collar and tag. Meets requirements fully.

Fabulous collars

We have lurchers(deerhound/greyhound) and use these as house collars with their ID tags that stay on all the time. They have harnesses when out but this way always have their name tags on. They look great on and are not bulky so don't spoil the shape of their necks. I've just had to order a new one as my 3 year old has thickened out. He'd had his last one since a pup and it was still in perfect condition. Very strong well made collars, would recommend.

Grey collar

I can highly recommend. Both collars I bought have a good quality and my dog looks amazing wearing them

Excellent collars

I purchased a house collar and Italian leather luxury collar which wasn't a standard sized. Communications were good. I am very happy with both collars. The leather is beautiful and a nice vibrant colour. Dexter looks very smart in his new attire.

So lovely

What a lovely house collar I have chosen for my whippet. The yellow is such a lovely time on my whippets fawn coat. Fits perfectly. Will be purchasing for my 6month old whippet when she is a little older. Thanks for the fast delivery. I have the I'd tag on it to keep him safe.
