Could this be the perfect Christmas present for your pooch? We think so.
The Berry Merry Christmas dog collar features a garland of holly leaves made from green Italian calf leather. They wind their way round the collar along with festive berries made from dazzling light siam Swarovsky crystals.
The photograph shows a ruby red collar, but yours doesn’t have to be red. Choose any leather colour you like from the dropdown and we’ll custom-make your collar to order.
This collar is made by hand from top quality Italian leather, with a soft supple calf leather lining so it’s luxuriously comfortable against your dog’s neck. Your pooch may want to wear it all year round!
Why stop there?
For a real Christmas treat, how about a matching leather dog lead? We can make a 1 metre long lead in the same colour leather, with the holly and crystal design at the base of the lead next to the clasp.
How to measure your dog's neck for a leather dog collar
Every leather dog collar that we make is tailor made to fit your dog’s neck like a glove, with enough room to tighten or loosen to allow for differences due to grooming. No more annoying flaps of leather that look unsightly and more often than not get chewed on.
It really couldn't be easier to measure your dog’s neck for a handmade leather dog collar from Petiquette Collars. All you will need is a soft tape measure or a piece of string, a pen and paper, and perhaps most importantly, your dog.
The MOST important thing to take into account when measuring though is DO NOT MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR. This will lead to an incorrect sized collar.
Petiquette Collars generally cover a 2" - 3" neck size range. So for example, a 10" - 12" collar. The first hole would be 10" from the buckle, and the last hole would be 12" from the buckle. Please see the image below for a visual representation.
We are always happy to help when it comes to choosing the size for your dog collar to ensure the perfect fit for your canine friend. If you are in any doubt, please contact us.
Measuring your dog for a classic collar
Have your dog stand comfortably, hopefully they won’t wriggle too much, but if they do, then bribery with some tasty treats can help. Wrap the tape measure or piece of string around the middle of your dog’s neck so that it is touching the fur but is not tight around the neck.
Make a note of this reading and then take a look at the sizes we offer for each of our bespoke collars.
We would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole would be as close to the neck measurement as possible.
If your dog has a neck size of roughly 13.5”, then you should choose a 13” - 15” collar size. This will give enough room to tighten it should they lose a little weight, and it gives enough room to slacken it if needed.
Measuring a sighthound for a collar
If you have a sighthound such as an Italian Greyhound, Whippet, lurcher or Greyhound for example, rather than measuring around the middle of the neck, wrap the tape measure so that it is fairly snug, just behind the ears and under the chin at the top of the neck.
As with our classic collars would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole is as close to the neck measurement as possible.
If you are measuring for a house collar, we would advise that you measure further down the neck, so that the collar will hang fairly loosely.

I love this Christmas collar! it's so beautiful and really well made, it will last us for years. We also got the Candy Cane Christmas Dog Collar for our other dog which is equally as lovely. Very happy :)
We bought 2 of these, one in green and one in red. They are so pretty. We get compliments all the time. And the quality is excellent as always. We hope to enjoy them for many Christmas seasons to come.
Wonderful quality , well worth waiting for
The Red Berry with green holly leaves collar that I ordered for Christmas is just lovely - very well made, soft leather and just as advertised. Very festive!
Fab Collars. The dogs will start wearing them when they have had a tidy up which means the Collars will get shown off to full effect. It is likely they will be wearing them next week
