Crystal Heart Leather Whippet Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

The perfect choice for your loveable little dog. A glistening Swarovski crystal heart takes centre stage on this beautifully soft and glossy Italian leather whippet collar.

The Crystal Heart leather whippet collar will be made by hand in our Northumberland workshop. Choose your own leather and crystal colour combination and we’ll do the rest.

High-quality Italian leather will surround a durable leather core, with a butter-soft nappa leather lining to make sure it feels comfy for your dog. The crystals are individually hand-riveted into place to make sure they stay firmly in place.

It’s important to support your whippet’s slender neck so we’ve designed the leather collar with this in mind. Its fishtail shape measures 1¾” at the widest point, tapering to a ¾” buckle and strap. It will fit like a glove, without being too bulky or heavy.

To finish the look...

How about a handmade leather dog lead? It will match your new collar, and you can have a row of Swarovski crystals at the base of the lead in the same colour as your crystal heart. Or if you prefer, you can go for a plain leather lead.

All Petiquette leather dog leads are approximately 1 metre long. For whippets, we usually recommend a width of either 5/8 or 3/4“.

Leads are approx 1 metre long. Crystal leads will have the same colour crystals at the base of the lead
