Deck The Halls Christmas Whippet Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

With this Christmas whippet collar, your little pooch will join in with the festive spirit in style.

The Deck the Halls Christmas whippet collar is decorated with green leather holly motifs, with a cluster of Swarovski crystal berries to provide a dash of festive sparkle.

We can make this collar in any shade of leather you like. Just choose your favourite from our dropdown and we’ll make the collar by hand to your specifications.

At Petiquette, we make our collars from top-quality soft Italian leather, then each collar is lined with the same soft leather to make sure it fits like a glove and feels nice and comfy. There are no hard edges to cause rubbing or irritation while you’re out on crisp winter walks.

To offer the support needed for your whippet’s slender neck, it measures 1¾” at its widest point, tapering to a ¾” buckle and strap.

How about a Christmas treat for you?

You deserve a Christmas treat too, and a new handmade leather dog lead will fit the bill perfectly. It will match the collar, made by hand from soft Italian leather so it will feel soft and comfy against your hand as you’re walking with your dog.

Petiquette handmade leather leads are approximately 1 metre in length. They are available in a range of widths, although for whippets we usually recommend either 5/8 or 3/4“.

Leads are approx 1 metre long. Crystal leads will have the same colour crystals at the base of the lead
