Italian Greyhound Puppy Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

A soft leather collar, custom made for Italian greyhound and whippet puppies. It's the perfect size and weight, tried and tested for comfort and safety on the smallest Iggies and whippets.

This Italian greyhound puppy collar is made by hand from beautifully soft Italian calf leather. Choose any colour you like from our huge range and we’ll make the collar by hand to your specifications.

The collar will be soft and comfy from the very first time your puppy wears it. We line our puppy collars with the same luxurious Italian leather to cover any rough edges and to make sure it won’t irritate your puppy’s sensitive neck.

For both Italian greyhound and whippet puppies, it’s important to protect the vertebrae in their tiny necks. To reflect this, the collar measures 1 ¼” at its widest point, tapering to a ½” buckle. Use our size guide below to get the correct length, but if you have any questions please get in touch. We’re happy to provide advice.

Need help choosing your colours?

We have over two dozen shades of soft Italian leather that your luxury leather dog collar can be made with, and over a dozen colours of genuine Swarovski crystals.

If you need any help deciding which colours work well together, then feel free to get in touch and we'll be happy to help.

Stunning collar

We are thrilled with Florence’s beautiful Italian Greyhound puppy collar! She is so tiny the smallest size fits prefectures. We chose teal and the colour is stunning against her grey coat. The 2 colour lead in teal and Jaffa orange matches perfectly. Can’t wait to choose the next size up collar as she grows.
