Metallic Leather Whippet Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

A luxuriously soft metallic leather whippet collar, available in four gorgeously shiny colours – gilt, gold leaf, silver and spaceship.

This metallic leather whippet collar is perfect for dogs and owners who like to turn heads whilst out walking. It's stylish, elegant and beautifully glossy. We’ve sourced top-quality metallic leather for this collar, making sure it’s soft enough to be comfortable against the delicate neck of your whippet.

At Petiquette, we make all our leather whippet collars by hand in our Northumberland workshop. Your new collar will be fully lined in the same soft metallic leather, with smooth rounded edges to prevent any irritation or rubbing.

Bear in mind that we wouldn’t recommend this collar if your whippet is a bit of a neck scratcher or likes heavy play. Metallic leather isn’t quite as hardwearing as Italian calf leather and any scratches tend to show up more prominently.

For support and protection for your whippet’s slender neck, the collar has been designed in a fishtail shape. It measures1¾” at its widest point, tapering to a ¾” strap, buckle and D-ring.

How about a matching lead?

With a collar this eye-catching, you’ll want a metallic leather lead to match. It will be made in the same soft leather, with a handy D-ring in the handle so you can clip it to your shoulder or waist while your whippet is off lead.

Our leads measure 1 metre in length and are available in a range of widths.

Leads are approx 1 metre long. Crystal leads will have the same colour crystals at the base of the lead

Customizations Total: £0.00
