If your pooch is a bit of a rebel, then the Ahoy There Swarovski crystal collar is perfect for them.  Swarovski crystals alongside skull and crossbones make this a fun and unique dog collar which is built to last.

Simply pick the colour of leather and Swarovski crystal you'd like to have.  All of the crystals are riveted by hand and are held in securely.  We also line our collars with matching soft Italian calf leather to make it extra comfy around the neck.

Finally you can choose to finish off your Petiquette designer set with a handmade lead to match.  We can either put skull and crossbones and crystals at the bottom of the lead next to the clip, or you could have a plain leather lead in the same colour as the collar.  The lead will be lined with the same lining leather as the collar.

How to measure your dog's neck for a leather dog collar

Every leather dog collar that we make is tailor made to fit your dog’s neck like a glove, with enough room to tighten or loosen to allow for differences due to grooming.  No more annoying flaps of leather that look unsightly and more often than not get chewed on.

It really couldn't be easier to measure your dog’s neck for a handmade leather dog collar from Petiquette Collars.  All you will need is a soft tape measure or a piece of string, a pen and paper, and perhaps most importantly, your dog.

The MOST important thing to take into account when measuring though is DO NOT MEASURE THE TOTAL LENGTH OF AN EXISTING COLLAR.  This will lead to an incorrect sized collar.

Petiquette Collars generally cover a 2" - 3" neck size range.  So for example, a 10" - 12" collar.  The first hole would be 10" from the buckle, and the last hole would be 12" from the buckle.  Please see the image below for a visual representation.

We are always happy to help when it comes to choosing the size for your dog collar to ensure the perfect fit for your canine friend.  If you are in any doubt, please contact us.

Measuring your dog for a classic collar

Step 1

Have your dog stand comfortably, hopefully they won’t wriggle too much, but if they do, then bribery with some tasty treats can help.  Wrap the tape measure or piece of string around the middle of your dog’s neck so that it is touching the fur but is not tight around the neck.

Step 2

Make a note of this reading and then take a look at the sizes we offer for each of our bespoke collars.

We would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole would be as close to the neck measurement as possible.

For example

If your dog has a neck size of roughly 13.5”, then you should choose a 13” - 15” collar size.  This will give enough room to tighten it should they lose a little weight, and it gives enough room to slacken it if needed.

Measuring a sighthound for a collar

Step 1

If you have a sighthound such as an Italian Greyhound, Whippet, lurcher or Greyhound for example, rather than measuring around the middle of the neck, wrap the tape measure so that it is fairly snug, just behind the ears and under the chin at the top of the neck.

Step 2

As with our classic collars would recommend that you choose the collar size where the smallest hole is as close to the neck measurement as possible.

If you are measuring for a house collar, we would advise that you measure further down the neck, so that the collar will hang fairly loosely.

Gorgeous collar really well made, will definitely buy again.

Brilliant as always

I bought my first Petiquette collar 7 years ago (another Ahoy There, the review is still on the page and it still looks fantastic!). The leather has changed over the years but not the quality. Looks stunning on my Bulldog. Thank you!
