Summer Flower Leather Whippet Collar

Size Guide
How to measure your sighthound for a luxury leather dog collar

Whether you have a tiny Italian Greyhound, a Whippet, Greyhound, lurcher or any of the numerous breeds of sighthound, there's one thing you are probably painfully familiar with.

They are amazing collar escape artists.
Due to the shape of their necks they can easily back out of a poorly fitted collar, so a tailor made collar from Petiquette Collars will help eliminate this stressful part of walking these beautiful dogs.

How to measure your sighthound's neck

Rather than measuring the middle of the neck as you would with most dog breeds, it's essential to measure the narrowest part of the neck on a sighthound.
Follow our guide and check the photo for where you should measure your dog for a luxury leather dog collar.

Step 1

With your dog standing comfortably, wrap a soft tape measure, or piece of string if you don't have a tape measure, around the part of the neck at line B on the photograph.
The tape measure should be touching the fur but not constricting the neck.  Please don't add any fingers underneath the tape measure, as this can lead to incorrect sizing.

Step 2

Make a note of this measurement and take a look at the sizes available for our collars.  Choose the collar size which at it's smallest measurement is as close to the neck measurement you have just taken.
For example, if your dog's neck at line B measures approximately 11", then you would select an 11"-13" collar size.

The Summer Flower leather whippet collar gives you the chance to create a collar that is entirely unique to your dog. It's the perfect choice for those idyllic summer walks in the sunshine.

The leather whippet collar features a colourful two-tone flower, held in place by a sparkling Swarovski crystal with delicate leather leaves on either side. You can customise it in any colours you like.

Choose your favourite shade of leather for the collar itself, then choose two colours for the leather petals. After that, pick a colour for the central crystal. We’ll make the collar by hand to your exact specifications.

Your bespoke whippet collar will be made from the finest Italian leather, then lined with the same butter-soft leather to make sure it feels comfy against your dog’s neck and fits like a glove. There won’t be any of the rubbing or hair loss often associated with harder leather collars.

To protect and support your whippet’s slender neck, the collar is 1¾” wide, tapering to a ¾” buckle and strap.

To finish the look...

Treat yourself to a handmade leather dog lead. It will match your new collar, made from soft Italian leather with a handy D-ring in the handle so you can clip it round your shoulder or waist while out on summer walks.

Our leads measure around 1 metre in length. For whippets we recommend a width of either 5/8 or 3/4“,otherwise the clasp may become too heavy for them.
